Hera Pheri 3 has finally gotten a confirmation. The Hera Pheri actor says he is really excited about working on the third installment of the franchise and the cast and crew of the film will commence working on the project by the end of this year. The film, Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan released 9 years ago, back in 2000 and also featured veteran actors like Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar.
The story of the film revolved around a quirky yet kind-hearted man named Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, the owner of a garage, a cunning loafer named Raju, and a struggling pauper Shyam. The trio came back with the second installment of the film in 2006 which was titled ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and was directed by Neeraj Vora. According to Shetty’s statement in an interview with PTI, Priyadarshan has been roped to direct the third installment. He said,
“Talks are on with Priyadarshan for the third part. It should happen by the end of the year. There is a lot of discussion around it. I am excited about it.”
The 57-year-old star shared his feeling on the previous parts and said that he loved part one but did not enjoy the second film that much.
“People loved and related to the honesty, simplicity and the struggle of these three men in the film and found humour in the struggle,” he added further, “I don’t love ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ as much as I liked the first one. (It had) honesty, great writing and the pure genius of Priyadarshan.”
Suniel Shetty, who was last seen in ‘A Gentleman’ in the year 2017, which featured Siddharth Malhotra in the lead role said he wants to work in good films. He said,
“I am looking forward to doing a lot of good work, be it here or in the south in the few years. I am doing roles that suit me,”
He further added,
“I am doing a film in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. These are interesting films. I will talk about them when the time is right,”
