Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film, Stree has been very well received by the Bollywood fans and has become the latest blockbuster of Bollywood. The film has received a great response from the audiences and the critics and the acting of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has been commendable in the film. The concept of the film is really unique in which the men of Chanderi village were locking themselves to protect themselves from a witch named ‘Stree’ who only targets men. The concept of this film received immense praise from all corners and won the hearts of many Bollywood fans.

Talking about the box office collection of this film, it earned around $11 million in less than two weeks. It is definitely a huge success for a small budget film which has featured upcoming actors like Rajkummar Rao. This film is a horror comedy film and so it mixes horror with comedy in the best possible way. The movie also gives a great message by highlighting the importance of women in the society and riffs on the restrictions which Indian society places on women. Not only in India, but also this film is gaining appreciation from the foreign countries for its unique concept.

The movie questions many attitudes towards women. Yasser Usman, a famous Bollywood expert and film critic said,

“You are used to seeing women scared and screaming. This completely twists and turns all that around.”

Women’s safety is definitely one of the most important issues in a country like India where many women go through publicized gang rapes and other sorts of sexual harassments. But the response of people to this is quite negative and instead of changing the circumstances, they restrict women’s movement outside the house.

This time, the filmmakers decided to make this film in a feminist style which turned out to be really successful. Amar Kaushik also said that we decided to give this film a feminist angle because of its importance to the Indian society. According to the reports of NDTV, Amar Kaushik also said,

“If I stand on a podium and dictate my views, people object. When you’re funny, and you say things in a joking way, it’s all good.”

So, it seems that the idea of Amar Kaushik completely worked through his latest Blockbuster horror comedy film.
