Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ and Ranveer Singh’s ’83’ are more likely to get festive releases on the big screen, in other words, 2020 year-end. Well known trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote a tweet making this interesting announcement, much to the excitement of both Akshay Kumar and Ranveer’s fans.
At present, a lot of filmmakers are opting for the digital releases of their films and a few of them have already streamed their projects on OTT platforms, both on-shore, and off-shore. Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo streamed on Amazon Prime Video on the 12th of June and some South flicks followed the trend. But some filmmakers, especially those with big money on the stake are determined to release their flicks on big screens much to the excitement of the fans. Though the final release dates are yet to be announced.
Some of them are Sooryavanshi and 83 which were slated to release on the big screens earlier this year, around March-end, when the coronavirus pandemic hit India hard. Sooryavanshi was all set to make its box office debut on March 24, 2020, just a couple of days before the lockdown was announced. Whilst Ranveer Singh’s 83 was to be released on April 10, 2020.
Now, trade analyst, Taran Adarsh made a tweet to announce that Sooryavanshi is likely to release in Diwali and 83 might get a Christmas release this year. His tweet read,
“BIGGG DEVELOPMENT… #Sooryavanshi and #83TheFilm to release in *theatres* first… Plans to release #Sooryavanshi in #Diwali and #83TheFilm in #Christmas *IN CINEMAS*.”
Have a look at his tweet below:
Talking about Sooryavanshi, the film is helmed by Rohit Shetty and is a part of his Cop Universe after Singham & Simmba. Akshay Kumar plays the titular role, whilst Katrina Kaif plays his lady love.
Meanwhile, Kabir Khan’s 83 features Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev who led the Indian Cricket Team during the 1983 World Cup, which they won for the very 1st time.
