Sonakshi Sinha and Rapper Badshah Team Up To Break The Stigma Around Sex In Indian Society in This Khandaani Shafakhana Trailer
The makers of Khandaani Shafakhana have dropped the official trailer of the film starring Sonakshi Sinha, Rapper Badshah and Varun Sharma. As we reported earlier this week that this movie revolves around the taboo and stigma associated with the topic of sex in Indian Society.
Sonakshi plays the character of Baby Bedi, who inherits her uncle’s sex clinic business post his sudden demise (played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Hesitant in beginning her character i.e. Baby Bedi soon decides to spread the word about her uncle’s method of treatment, but in the process ends up learning something himself i.e. the stigma associated with the topic of sex in the minds of Indian Society.
Then comes a breakthrough in her professional life, when she seeks assistance from a pop star named Gabru Attack (Rapper Badshah) to help her in her professional journey.
Below have a look at the trailer for yourself:
The tagline of the movie that reads, “only sex film for the whole family” adds more to the cinema goers curiosity levels. Sharing some details about Baby Bedi’s character in the film, Sonakshi tells,
“I’m extremely happy to be part of a film, which is so close to the world around us. I will get to step into the shoes of a small-town girl, and face the hilarious, madcap challenges thrown at her. It’s full of flavour, fun and emotions.”
A Shilpi Dasgupta directorial, it will fight for its share of revenue at box-office with Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao’s Mental Hai Kya and Kriti Sanon-Diljit Dosanjh-Varun Sharma starrer Arjun Patiala on July 26, 2019.
This movie discusses a topic in public that is expected to be kept behind doors and not in open and much more than that, females are not expected to pursue this as a career choice. So, for sure this movie falls into the category of a content cinema and whether this gamble plays right remains to be seen, but this topic choice for the cinema of Khandaani Shafakhana’s filmmakers seems to be a decision in the right direction.
