When it comes to Sidharth Malhotra’s last few releases he has had a tough time at the box office with Jabariya Jodi and Aiyaary. But undeterred from those failures, he is now gearing to change all this with his upcoming films, Marjaavaan and Shershaah. There were rumors out there that Sidharth was going to take a sabbatical after Jabariya Jodi‘s failure. At a recent trailer launch event of Marjaavaan, Sidharth talked about all these rumors.
Sidharth had a confirmed mind to go on a sabbatical until he realized what kind of films he wanted to do.
“Every actor thinks about what he wants from a film before signing it. This film is an ode to all the heroes that I have seen in Hindi movies. I have always been inspired by the hero’s entry, action and stuff like, so with similar excitement, I started working on this film.”
When he was asked about what inspired him to play a masses hero, he replied,
“Milap (Zaveri) believes in the cinema that we all grew up watching, where a hero makes an amazing entry or does action and dialogue baazi. I personally grew up on cinema of this genre. I think for the first time I have got an opportunity to play a masses hero, so when I heard the narration of this film, I was very excited and inspired to do the role.”
Talking about Marjaavaan it also stars Riteish Deshmukh, with whom Sidharth has previously worked in the 2014 hit: Ek Villain. Marjaavaan’s trailer was received with an overwhelming response. We have to wait and watch whether this overwhelming response converts into box-office success after the film makes it’s silver screen landing on November 8, 2019.

Talking about sabbatical, Sidharth isn’t the first Bollywood citizen who had such thoughts. Shahrukh Khan too went on a sabbatical after Zero’s box-office nose dive. His silver screen visit is still awaited by his fans.
