Gully Boy’s MC Sher Siddhant Chaturvedi Was Approached For Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’

Siddhant Chaturvedi established his name in B-town in 2019 with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy. He undoubtedly was one of the most powerful characters we witnessed this year. After his power-packed performance in the movie, he was approached for narrations by various filmmakers. And the news is now coming that one of them was Karan Johar’s: Dostana 2.

Announced on Wednesday, Dostana 2 is a sequel to Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, and John Abraham starrer Dostana, that came back in 2008. And after that, its lead couple was also announced i.e. Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. Along with the Duo Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, there was news that a new fresh face would be making debut with the movie.

But in the beginning, things weren’t like this. As per a BollywoodLife report, Siddhant Chaturvedi, who shared the screen with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Verma in Gully Boy and yet his performance was so delivering that it stood apart and could not be left unnoticed was approached for the role.

The report, however, claims that he declined the offer since he was not open to sharing the frame with another male lead. Reports are also coming that not only Siddhant, but even Rajkummar Rao was also going to be roped in for the film before the official announcement came along. When it comes to Siddhant, there is a relation between him and Hollywood Movie: Men In Black: International. He is the person who gave voice to the character of Chris Hemsworth in its Hindi version.

For those are uninitiated, Dostana 2 was announced by Karan Johar’s: Dharma Productions, after non-stop demand from the silver screen visitors in the 11 years that have passed by since its first version hit the silver screen. The movie navigates the comic side of a love triangle.
