At last, our long wait has come to an end with the release of the much-awaited trailer of ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Jitu K, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy and Neeraj Singh in the lead roles.
We all know that when it comes to National Film Award Recipient: Ayushmann Khurrana. He is not a superstar in terms of his movies making crores on the box office. But his issue-based films that our Indian society hesitates to deal with even in this modern era makes him a superhero of his own kind.
Vicky Donor, Article 15 and Dream Girl. These are a few of his flicks that will not be irrelevant even when not screened in theatres. To be precise, he acts in evergreen flicks.
In ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, Ayushmann Khurrana plays the role of a gay who is paired opposite Jitendra Kumar. The trailer begins with Ayushmann’s character engaging in a conversation with Manu Rishi, who asks him when did he decide to become a gay. Unperturbed by his choice of sexual orientation, Khurrana’s befitting reply gives that perfect start to the trailer. This trailer also gives us a glimpse of the romance brewing with Jitendra and that too aboard Indian Railways.
As expected, Jitendra’s on-screen parents: Garjraj Rao and Neena Gupta, are not ready to come in terms with the fact that their son is gay. But Ayushmann comes and stays at their house and screams on a loudspeaker of the family that he’s a homophobic, accompanied by the use of pride flag as a cape during the sequence. Apart from their struggle to convince their parents to accept their relationship, Ayushmann and Jitendra have some adorable moments together and they do share a cute chemistry.

Best part of this trailer comes when the couple kiss each other with no signs of remorse. Pankhuri Awasthy has been roped in to play female lead as Jitendra’s bride. But as happened in the past, this time too Ayushmann’s performance steals the show.
