Shah Rukh Khan is on a high these days for his movie, Zero just released and going by the trailers, the movie was being anticipated by the fans. This pre-Christmas release has got several fans excited for he has come on the big screen after more than a year. Shah Rukh Khan enjoys a huge, huge fandom here in the country and around the globe and it is not difficult for the man to pull in audience to the theatres, at least on the first weekend but it is the critics and the box office that he has been struggling a bit with since a couple of his last movies.
But one thing that Shah Rukh Khan is appreciated the most among other things is his versatility. He has played very contrasting roles like that of a romantic clichéd hero, a murderer, a scientist, even a robot, in his career span and that has only helped him widen the fan base.
The Zero team had been busy promoting the movie since a couple of days now and on the lines of his next choice, in one of the interviews with DNA, he was asked what would he like to play next on the big screen? He replied,
“I would like to do a Mission: Impossible kind of a film.”
We too as fans would also love to see him in hardcore action after a really long time on the big screen. In the interview, he also revealed how the working title of the movie was ‘Katrina-Meri Jaan’ and later they zeroed it down to ‘Zero’ and how Aanand L. Rai, the director of the movie had claimed that with this movie, he would try and rectify Shah Rukh Khan’s connect with the audience. This says volumes of how the team is considerate of each other and how much effort has been put in to create this movie. Watch the full interview here:
All his movies, released in the last two, two and a half years, Fan, Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal, received a cold box office response and that is why he may be a bit nervous for this one as well and when he was asked how Zero’s box office failure would affect him, he said,
“See, I can’t change that, and if I can’t change something, why should I think about it? If people feel that Zero is very important for me, it’s their feeling. God forbid, if this film doesn’t work, what will happen? Maybe, I won’t get work for six months or 10 months. But if I believe that my craft and art is good, I will continue to get work.”
He further added,
“Then I will probably make a comeback which I have been doing for the last 15 years, or maybe, the comeback won’t happen. The trade world has a point of view about a film’s business, and they are right from their viewpoint. Main dekhta hoon ki is film ki story kya hai, aur is mein nayapan kya hai. That’s more important to me.”
That is what one would have expected from the man who has been in the industry for over 25 years and have seen and experienced all sorts of ups and downs. The star cast of Zero, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan have claimed that one of the most challenging roles they have played in their careers is in this film and they hope, it fares extremely well.
