Currently, Shah Rukh Khan has not confirmed any of his upcoming projects as he recently said that he is listening to the scripts and make an official announcement about his next movie, sometime in June but that doesn’t stop us from speculating, does it? DNA After Hrs team had earlier confirmed that SRK was in talks with the Tamil director Atlee Kumar for his movie Thalapathy 63 starring Vijay and Nayanthara.
Apparently, the rumors of them in talks of working together began when they were spotted together at one of the IPL matches recently. Earlier, reports suggested that his role would be limited and it would be a guest appearance or just a small cameo in the film but that now has been updated with the fact that his cameo would be a regular one.
In fact, he would have a prominent role as a villain who would have a good 15-minute role in the climax. A source close to the team said to Pinkvilla,
“SRK has a prominent character that he’s playing in Thalapathy 63. It’s not like his other cameos. In fact, he is the main villain who comes in the picture only towards the climax. He has a good 15 minutes odd role, fighting Vijay. The makers wanted a leading face from the Hindi film industry to shoot for the role and when Atlee approached Shah Rukh for it, he agreed on principle to do it.”
Talking about the Shah Rukh’s schedule of the film, the source added,
“It’s a four-five day shoot and the team is figuring whether to film the scenes in Chennai or in Mumbai itself,”
If King Khan decides to take on the project, this wouldn’t be the first time he would be playing a villain. Earlier he has played a villain in movies like Darr, Baazigar, Don, Don 2, among others. And all of his performances as the bad man were hugely appreciated.
Atlee, not only in this movie wants to cast Khan but also has plans to cast him in the remake of his super successful film ‘Mersal’. About that, a source had earlier told DNA After Hrs,
“While meeting SRK for Thalapathy 63, Atlee also bounced off the idea of a possible Hindi remake of ‘Mersal’. Incidentally, that film, too, featured Vijay. Shah Rukh has shown an interest in the project. He has asked the director to develop it further, keeping the pan-India audience in mind. But he is yet to take a call on the same.”
Shah Rukh’s last outing on the big screen, Zero bombed bad, both commercially and critically. In fact, his last few movies have been disappointing to his fans and the actor has been taking his time to finalize his next movie. The filmmakers have not made an official announcement yet but would you want to see Shah Rukh Khan as a villain, fighting Vijay? Tell us in the comments down below.
