It was around 16 years ago i.e. in 2003, Salman Khan left everyone choked with emotions with his portrayal of Radhe Mohan in Satish Kaushik’s Tere Naam. The movie was a super duper hit at the box-office with Salman Khan’s unique hairstyle becoming a huge craze amongst his male fan base then. The movie was also in news for something another and new and that is, Bollywood debut of Bhumika Chawla. And now 16 years later, its makers are nurturing plans to make its sequel Tere Naam 2.
The sequel will be an entirely different and new story as per the excerpts from a report that was published in Mumbai Mirror. Satish Kaushik has completed writing the story of the sequel. It will be a love story that will revolve around a gangster and the background will be set in North India.
But the undecided part of the project is that whether like the first part, will it have Salman Khan or will he be replaced by a new or an existing talent available in the film industry pool? Will Salman make a return as Radhe? That is yet to be answered but both Salman Khan and Satish Kaushik share great chemistry and their latest project stands to be the still to be released Bharat slated to hit the theatres on June 5.
Director Satish Kaushik confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that a sequel is definitely under planning. His exact words were,
“Yes it’s true, I am making Tere Naam 2 which is a love story. That’s all I can say for now.”
Meanwhile speaking about the story of Tere Naam, it was a movie that had a rowdy college boy: Radhe Mohan (Salman Khan) falling for Nirjara (Bhumika Chawla) when suddenly an attack renders him unstable. After Nirjara’s death, Radhe renounces the world and returns back to the ashram’s nirvana life.
