The famous and successful director is all set to return with a sequel to his 1991 film ‘Sadak’.  The teaser of this film has been launched and Sadak 2 is going to be the title of this sequel in which Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt would be reprising their roles. Earlier the reports were coming that we may have Alia Bhatt too in this sequel and it seems that these went on to be true. Alia Bhatt is also going to be a part of this film. Alia Bhatt also confirmed this morning that she is a part of this film along with Aditya Roy Kapur.

Alia Bhatt also took over her twitter handle and made an official announcement about this film. She shared the teaser of ‘Sadak 2’ and wrote,

“SADAK 2 (heart) (heart) @MaheshNBhatt @PoojaB1972 @duttsanjay #AdityaRoyKapur #MukeshBhatt @VisheshFilms #Sadak2”

The film has been announced today by Mahesh Bhatt on his 70th birthday.

While announcing the film on his 70th birthday, Mahesh Bhatt said that something has happened to him to him again while he is into his sunset years. He said that he never thought that he is going to hear the words ‘A Mahesh Bhatt Film’ mentioned around him again. It seems that Mahesh Bhatt is really excited for his upcoming film as after a very long time again a film would be mentioning ‘A Mahesh Bhatt Film’. He also talked about her daughter in the interview with DNA. He revealed that Alia Bhatt used to say him to make a film and he used to tell her that he is an extinct volcano. But now it looks like the volcano has finally erupted and now he is coming with ‘Sadak 2’.

Mahesh Bhatt told to DNA,

“As I step into the sunset years of my life, the last act, there’s something that has happened to me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I will ever hear the words – a Mahesh Bhatt film – mentioned around me again. Alia used to say, ‘Papa, make a film’. And I would tell her that I am like an extinct volcano. But then, suddenly one day, the volcano was rumbling. You know, they say that autumn is another spring, so as I go into my autumn years, it’s the process of what is called decomposition or decay, that too is a way of life.”

Mahesh Bhatt also talked about reuniting with Sanjay Dutt and said that life has brought them a full circle. He also praised Sanjay Dutt for his acting and said that Sanjay Dutt has always trusted him. Mahesh Bhatt said that Sanjay Dutt went on to become a star on his ability to surrender. By the interview, it is clear that Mahesh Bhatt is very fond of Sanjay Dutt and has always believed in him. So now once again Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt would be working together for this film.

Talking about Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Bhatt said,

“Don’t forget that the two years he spent in jail haven’t been tapped into by anyone. And I know that buried in there is that unspoken anguish, which I had tuned in to during the making of Naam (1986). I think life has brought us a full circle. If there ever was an actor who has trusted me and went on to become a star purely because of his ability to surrender, it’s Sanju. He is like that lion, who perhaps can only be tamed by the language of love.”

Sanjay Dutt also opens up on starring in ‘Sadak 2’ and said,

“I’m lucky that before I die, I get to work with the man I love the most. For any actor, Bhatt saab is a dream to work with. My last film with him was Gumraah (1993), soon after he quit direction. Ever since, I have done many films, but I always remember him. I have always believed that one day he will get back on the field and make that one epic. I know what I’m signing up for because I’ve worked with him in many movies, but these kids don’t know what they are getting into (laughs).”
