Salman Khan is currently flooded with offers for movies. He already has a great line up ahead with Bharat and Dabangg 3 coming up this year, then he has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s unconventional love story with Alia Bhatt, Inshallah. The actor-director duo would be collaborating for the movie after 19 years and fans are super excited for this one. After this, Bhai would start working on Atul Agnihotri’s Veteran Hindi Remake.
Khan himself earlier confirmed the reports and had stated during the promotions of his production venture Notebook,
“I am doing ‘Veteran’. Atul has the rights. It’s a nice film. We will do this film after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film,”
Veteran is a Korean film about a detective who is on a lookout of a young man running from a crime scene. Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Bharat too is a remake of a Korean drama called Ode to My Father, whose rights too were bought by his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri.
When Agnihotri was asked why Korean films, he told PTI,
“I watch films in all languages it just happened that our heart was set on ‘Bharat’ and ‘Veteran’.”
Talking further about the movie, Atul also confirmed that Salman would be playing the lead role of a detective in the movie, which will be a first time Khan would play such a character. He said,
“I saw the film and I liked it. I thought it is an opportunity to make it with him. It is a class film. I showed him the film and he felt the same. Salman has given a go ahead He will play the detective in the film,”
Adding further about the remake, he told,
“Adaptation are never literal, adaptations are always a starting point. After that, you blend it according to the sensibilities of audience. It will have many big things, I have to make it bigger and larger as the expectations are huge every time Salman does a film. We hope to star sometime next year.”
Currently, Atul Agnihotri’s daughter and Salman’s niece Alizeh Agnihotri is working on Dabangg 3 to gain Bolly-knowledge before entering the industry. About that he said,
“She is preparing (to enter the industry). I am happy the way she is approaching things. It is going great. I am happy. She is not working as AD, she observes things, she doesn’t have a committed position.
For them, this environment is not new. She has seen films from discussion to execution stage. She is preparing, she is doing her regular courses, like in acting and other things. Her concentration is on acting. It is a long journey ahead.”
