Salman Khan is currently working on his upcoming highly anticipated movie, Dabangg 3. Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sonakshi Sinha starrer began its shooting in Madhya Pradesh and now, is all set to wrap up the Mumbai schedule too.
As the name suggests, it is a third installment in the Dabangg franchise in which Salman plays a Robin Hood cop, named Chulbul Pandey. The previous two movies had songs which topped the chartbuster lists. The foot tapping number in Dabangg was Munni Badnam Hui featuring Arbaaz’s then-wife Malaika Arora and Salman Khan whereas the second one had Fevicol Se featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bhai.
A new report on The Asian has informed that this movie, keeping on the legacy of such quirky song numbers, will not star a woman, but a man. There are chances that Salman Khan himself might turn the star attraction of the song in the movie.
A source reported,
“Malaika Arora’s foot-tapping item number ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ will be re-created and will feature Salman. This time, it will be presented to the audiences with a different twist,”
The source also revealed that the song will be named Munna Badnam Hua. The source added,
“The lyrics will undergo a drastic change too. And Salman has decided to wear the overcoat of this Badnami himself and the song will be called ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’.”
The report further suggests that Salman would have a younger love blossoming in the movie and he would be shown going to college as well, highlighting on his life before he joined the police department. However, who would be playing his love interest then is not yet revealed by the filmmakers so far.
Dabangg 3 is being directed by Prabhu Deva who has directed Salman before in Wanted. Salman will reprise his role of Chulbul Pandey, Sonakshi will reprise her role of Rajjo and Arbaaz Khan will reprise her role of Makkhi. No official release date has been announced yet but the filmmakers were earlier looking for a 2020 Christmas release, making it clash with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra. That is very unlikely to happen, as both the movies are big budgeted and demand their individual weekends. Let’s see what finally the makers decide on.
The first movie in the franchise released back in 2010 and was a major box office hit. Directed by Arbaaz Khan, it also marked Sonakshi Sinha’s Bollywood debut. The IMDb synopsis of the movie reads,
Set in Uttar Pradesh, Chulbul Pandey is a young boy who lives with his mother Naini, stepfather Prajapati, and younger half-brother Makkhi. Chulbul is constantly angry that his step-father is always partial towards his own biological son. 21 years later, Chulbul is a rowdy, mischievous, and sometimes crooked cop, who refers to himself as “Robin Hood.” He does everything in his own indomitable way; whether it’s dealing with corrupt politician and thug Chedi Singh, fighting a family feud, or romancing stunning Rajjo.
