Salman Khan is swamped with upcoming Bollywood movies as he has a great line up ahead for the next year as well. Currently, he is gearing up for his, this year’s first release, Bharat. The promotions of the movie are in full swing and now, a new update has come up that says there are chances that Salman Khan might sign a new project based on the life of a BSF jawaan.
Post Bharat, Salman will start working on Inshallah with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, after about 20 years. The star will be working opposite Alia Bhatt in this unconventional love story. After that, he has Dabangg 3 scheduled for a Christmas release this year. Apparently, he has also taken up another project, Hindi remake of a Korean Drama titled Veteran, with his brother in law, in which he will play a detective.
Interestingly, Salman in Bharat will be donning the uniform of a Navy Officer and in the BSF jawaan’s biopic, he will wear the uniform of an army officer. The audiences love the actor in uniform and he too enjoys working in projects based on India. A source informed Pinkvilla,
“Salman has always been extremely driven by stories that centre around India. Recently, a big banner approached him for a biopic they wish to produce. It will revolve around the life of a BSF jawaan and will be set in Kashmir.”
Revealing further about the project, the source said that the movie will be about a soldier who took down an entire camp of Mujahideen militants singlehandedly, about 12-14 years ago. The source was quoted as saying,
“It’s an extremely brave and inspirational story of this one man – an Indian soldier – who single handedly ended the entire camp of Mujahideen militants around 12-14 years ago. Salman loved the entire idea and felt it was an untold real-life story that needed to be told. He has given a verbal nod to the film already but his dates need to be figured out.”
On February 14, 2019, India faced a deadly attack on the CRPF Jawaans in Pulwama where a terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba bomb blasted a vehicle carrying 44 Indian soldiers. The movie will talk about the years before Pulwama Attack happened and the story behind it. Hence, it holds more relevance today, for people would want to know what actually happened. The source added,
“That’s why the story is even more relevant today. People would want to know the back story and what happened, years before the Pulwama attacks happened,”
Reports surfacing around suggest that the Tiger Zinda Hai actor will start shooting for the movie in June next year, after wrapping up SLB’s Inshallah. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Nora Fatehi, Sunil Grover, Sonali Kulkarni, and others. It hits the theatres around Eid, on June 5 this year.
