Ahead of Republic Day tomorrow, Salman Khan and team has released their much-awaited movie, Bharat teaser. The movie was being called a never seen before action thriller and the teaser is proving just that. The 90 seconds long teaser sets the theme of the film quite tremendously which is love for his name and the nation. Here’s the teaser:
The movie is set up in 1947, the year India got independence and will show characters over a span of 70 years. Salman’s name in the movie is Bharat and the teaser commences with showing us a glimpse of the heart-wrenching scene of the railway station during the India and Pakistan partition.
Then he goes on to reveal how he was asked his surname numerous times when he was growing up and how he used to tell everyone proudly that his father kept his name on the name of the nation and he does not want to ruin it by adding any surname, caste, creed to it. This itself sets the tone of the film.
He will be playing several professionals in the movie. First, he was seen as playing a motorcyclist performing stunts in a circus, then a Navy Officer, then a miner and lastly, an aging boxer. The part in the circus is set in the 60s and there, Disha Patani will play her colleague in that part who is also a trapeze artist in the film. And Katrina Kaif will probably be seen later in the film where he is shown standing at the border of India and Pakistan.
The one and a half minute teaser was Salman heavy and it describes the journey of a man and a nation together. The movie is based on a Korean drama ‘Ode to My Father’, the rights of which were brought by Atul Agnihotri, Salman’s brother in law. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar who has earlier collaborated with Khan in movies Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Both the movies were huge box office hits and this one too looks extremely promising.
Along with Salman, the film also stars Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Varun Dhawan in a cameo appearance. But this long teaser did not reveal or show any of the other characters apart from glimpses of Sunil Grover and Katrina Kaif in hindsight which was a bit of a disappointment. But the makers are yet to reveal the full-fledged trailer of the movie and guess they will compensate the other actor’s screen time in that.
Salman Khan’s last two films, Tubelight and Race 3, directed by Kabir Khan and Remo D’Souza respectively did not fare well at the box office at all and also fell prey to several trolls. Now he seems to be making a strong comeback with this one. The visuals and action-packed scenes of the movie look absolutely thrilling and this teaser has raised the bar of curiosity and expectations even more. Bharat is produced by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Krishan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan. It is slated to open on Eid this year i.e. on the 5th of June.
