In Bollywood, festivals are mostly divided among the three Khans for their movie releases. Aamir Khan takes the Christmas spot, Shah Rukh Khan’s turf is Diwali, and Salman Khan banks on Eid. That has how things have been for a couple of years and the Khans have been co-existing without clashing big at the box office. But now, other actors, other filmmakers too have been eyeing on these dates and the one for us to witness will be Eid 2020.
Earlier, we informed you that Rohit Shetty directorial Sooryavanshi had already released its posters, announcing their release date to be Eid 2020. In Sooryavanshi, Akshay Kumar will be seen collaborating with the director for the first time and it will be a valuable addition to Shetty’s super successful cop universe. Since it was the first movie to be announced to release next year on Eid, there were speculations since the very beginning that it may face a clash with Bhai.
Here’s the poster Akshay shared on social media:
“From #RohitShetty’s Police universe, get ready for the fire-packed #Sooryavanshi, releasing on Eid 2020! @karanjohar @RelianceEnt @RSPicturez @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms,” Akshay Kumar shared on Twitter along with the first poster of the film.
Now, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah starring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt too would be a huge release both for the filmmaker and the actor since they will be joining forces for a movie almost after 19 years. The movie’s shooting will begin post Alia and Salman’s prior commitments get sorted. Since, Salman Khan gets highest opening on this auspicious day, there are very slim chances that the movie will look for another release date.
Now, these two were quite obvious and known to everybody but what not everyone was aware of was the fact that Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera is also looking to be released on the same day. Apparently, Yash Raj Films are looking to book the same slot for the film.
A source to Deccan Chronicle informed that so far, Akshay and Salman are scheduled to lock horns at the box office with their respective films, Sooryavanshi and Inshallah. The source said,
“Yes, Salman and Akshay will lock horns because both films are releasing on the same date. There are no big dates available, but that’s how it is at the moment,”
What is interesting is that all the actors fall in the big league, all of the movies are full on commercial masala films and all the movies are backed by big moneyrollers. But this Clash of Titans would eventually hamper their own movie earnings, so there are chances that looking at the two movies that are already ready for a smash, Shamshera filmmakers might go for another release date. But if in case, they don’t, who would you prefer to watch then? Share your preferences in the comments below.
