While on the one hand, Safi Ali Khan’s character looked promising in the film & he received praises for it too, on the other hand, the script of the film was bashed to the extent of being called ‘non-existent’. Just like movie critics, most of the box office audiences too are disappointed with Laal Kaptaan.

One of the users called Lal Kaptaan ‘too experimental’ and perfect for the digital platform. While another went to the extent of saying that if the movie was ‘western’ & screened at The Academy, most would have their jaws dropped off.

To Saif’s help, there came some praises for his acting in the film.

Below have a look at some of the audience reviews:

Lal Kaptaan is directed by Anushka Sharma’s NH10 director Navdeep Singh. This film is jointly bankrolled by Eros International and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions. It has Deepak Dobriyal, Zoya Hussain & Manav Vij as Saif Ali Khan’s co-stars.

Talking about Saif’s on-screen failure, this won’t be his first. Just a while back, his Netflix Series: Sacred Games Season 2 too had a nosedive. It was a disappointment as compared to the 1st season. In both seasons, Nawazuddin Siddiqui played antagonist opposite Saif Ali Khan.

But despite both critics and box office audience rejecting Lal Kaptaan upfront, there’s some good news for Saif from home. His and Kareena’s little munchkin: Taimur likes to watch Lal Kaptaan trailer twice a day.
