Saif Ali Khan Feels Uncomfortable in Being Sara’s on-Screen Father

Saif Ali Khan shared the reason behind him not wanting daughter cum actor Sara Ali Khan to star in his upcoming film, ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’.

Sometime back before Alaya F was finalized to play Saif Ali Khan’s on-screen daughter in Jawaani Jaaneman, there were reports that Sara Ali Khan is likely to play the role. But it was the debutante Alaya F who bagged the role in the end and she is liked for her cute presence in the trailer as well as the songs.

Jawaani Jaaneman could have been the 1st box office outing of Father and Daughter: Duo, Saif and Sara.

Talking more in this regard with Pinkvilla, Saif Ali Khan told,

“Yes, see what had happened was Kedarnath had been shelved and Sara didn’t have any other movie. So, this film was around and being a knight-in-shining armour and a good daddy, I was like ‘would you like to do this?’ She was like ‘yes’ and then Kedarnath was on track, and Simmba fell into place. Then I said, “Listen, Sara, don’t do this movie, please tell us if you would rather not because this was a backup for you. I would love to do this with somebody else. You should be working with Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan next’ and so she said, ‘okay, thank you. I would like to do that’.”

Saif completed his words by sharing,

“So it was that simple — I didn’t want her to work with me because it gets complicated with family. I mean it is like three or four films we have been offered together; part of the time, I am not interested in the role, part of the time, she is not interested in the role.”

Jawaani Jaaneman is set to make a box office debut on January 31, 2020. Alongside Alaya and Saif, Tabu will play the female lead opposite Saif cum Alaya’s on-screen mother.
