About a week ago, Alia Bhatt used her social media account to announce that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming directorial Inshallah starring Salman Khan and her will be releasing on Eid 2020. Immediately following the news were people talking about the big clash between Inshallah and Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. Moviegoers were divided so as to which movie to watch on priority considering both Salman and Akshay have huge fan bases.
But Salman Khan did the right thing in time and today he took to his Instagram and shared a photo posing with Rohit announcing the new release date of Sooryavanshi. Here’s the post:
“I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it… @itsrohitshetty Sooryavanshi releasing on 27th March 2020.”
Yes, Akshay-Katrina starrer has been preponed and it will hit the screens on March 27, 2020. Karan Johar, who is also co-producing Sooryavanshi shared the same photo and wrote,
“The ultimate Khiladi & the blockbuster director are arriving on 27th March 2020 in your cinema halls with #Sooryavanshi! Special thanks & love to @beingsalmankhan!”
Earlier when during an exclusive interview with DNA After Hrs, Katrina was asked about the Box-office clash of Inshallah and Sooryavanshi clash, her comments were,
“Salman loves Akshay, he loves Rohit. He will always be supportive of me in the workplace. So, I don’t think he will let his film clash with Sooryavanshi.”
It is now clear that both Inshallah and Sooryavanshi are likely to get solo releases in 2020.
When it comes to Salman’s latest Bollywood outing, his much-hyped Eid release Bharat, released on June 5, it hasn’t performed much upto expectations. And the word is increasingly gaining strength in the entertainment business circles that good content can never be replaced with a big star cast and big budget promotions.
