Here’s a piece of good news from Randhir Kapoor for all the Rishi Kapoor fans. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s father Randhir Kapoor has issued a public statement that his younger sibling Rishi is cancer free now. He said that Rishi Kapoor is on the road to recovery and is “almost cancer free”. The veteran actor said that the 66-year-old actor who is currently undergoing treatment in New York will be back home soon.
In a statement to PTI, he was quoted as saying,
“He is undergoing treatment, he is much better. He is almost cancer free. He will take some time to come back as he has to finish his course. He will be here in the next couple of months. Very soon.”
This is the very first time that the Kapoor family has made a direct comment on the nature of Rishi Kapoor’s illness. Though his wife, the veteran actress Neetu Kapoor had in past hinted through her New Year’s post that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
These were the words in the caption that she mentioned on her Instagram post,
“Happy 2019… No resolutions only wishes this year! Less pollution, traffic! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign! Good health”.
Earlier in the day, director Rahul Rawail also made comments similar to Randhir Kapoor about Rishi Kapoor’s improving health. He shared a pic with the man on his Facebook account and wrote,
“RISHI KAPOOR (CHINTU) is CANCER FREE!”.
Going in little detail about Rishi Kapoor’s illness, he has been undergoing treatment in New York since September 2018 and even skipped the funeral of his mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor in October. Rishi Kapoor who is a regular on his Twitter account stayed in touch with his fan base throughout his treatment and recovery through the respective social media platform.
