Okay, who doesn’t want to see this beautiful couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone romancing on the big screen together? But have you noticed that every film that they’ve done together so far has had a tragic end. First, they featured together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela, where the two ended their lives in the end. Then in Bajirao Mastani again the two lovers die together. And if you remember, there was Finding Fanny too in which Ranveer did a cameo and played Deepika’s husband who dies after eating their wedding cake. So, basically it has all been heart breaking endings for the couple on screen. But now, post their wedding the couple has signed a picture in which we surely will get to see a happy ending.
Earlier, we reported that Deepika was in talks with the Kapil Dev’s biopic ’83 filmmakers to be cast Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia in the movie opposite Husband Ranveer Singh. Turns out, Deepika finally has signed the dotted line. A source revealed to Pinkvilla,
“Deepika has been locked for Kabir Khan’s next film ’83. The film that revolves around India’s 1983 World Cup victory, will primarily focus on Kapil Dev’s story. The film has an ensemble cast being lead by Ranveer and now, DP too has given her go ahead to the film.”
Well, this will be their first outing together as a wedded couple and we are already super excited. Deepika’s role in the movie will not be a full-fledged lead role but she will feature in a cameo appearance. But this cameo would be meaty enough to leave an impact as it will be full of emotions and drama. The movie will be helmed by the Bajrangi Bhaijaan director, Kabir Khan and we already feel it’s going to be amazing. Roping in the talk of the town duo after almost a year can work in favour of the film in great measures.
The source, about Deepika role said,
“Deepika has a good role because she plays Kapil’s wife Romi Bhatia who was also a pageant winner. In fact, as far as the story goes, she had left the stadium after India started losing the wickets. But when she heard that they are on the verge of winning the World Cup, she came back to the stadium. That part is extremely dramatic. Also, the film will delve into the relationship between the husband and wife, their love story.”
Legendary Kapil Dev’s contribution to bringing home India’s first World Cup ever in 1983 was immeasurable and this movie will majorly highlight that part of his life. Apparently, Ranveer Singh has also started training for the role with the cricketer himself.
Ranveer and Deepika, so far have been seen in intense romantic dramas so far and it will nice to see them getting in the skin of light-hearted yet extremely important characters. Deepika Padukone will not only be starring in the movie but will also be co-producing it.
