7 Films Would Have Been Different Had Rani Mukerji Not Refused Them

Rani Mukerji is one of the most loved actresses of our country. Her immense talent and work speak for itself. She is a brilliant actress, and there is no denying the fact that her magical transformation into any character is just marvelous. 

 Her choice of movies is one of the reasons why she succeeded as an actress, and we respect that, but we can’t stop wondering about all the movies she rejected. We would have loved these a Lil bit more had Rani Mukerji not Refused.

 1. Lagaan

 Rani was offered Lagaan opposite Aamir khan, but she rejected the role! The makers then decided to cast Gracy Singh for the role. 

 2. Mangal Pandey: The Rising

 Rani Mukherjee was offered to play the role of Jalwa, but she loved Heera’s character in the script and asked the makers if she could play that character instead, and the rest is history. 

 3. Heyy Babyy

 Yup, exactly! Vidya Balan’s role was offered to Rani, and she rejected it. Eventually, the role was offered to Vidya, who did  justice to the character. 

 4. Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Why would anyone reject a role in this movie? We have no clue why Rani rejected Vidya Balan’s role in this movie. Vidya did a superb job at playing Manjulika. She pulled it off so well, and this role gave her immense recognition across the country.

5. The Namesake

Mira Nair wanted Rani to play Ashima Ganguli in her Indian-American drama film but, Rani was busy shooting for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna at that time so, Tabu was selected for the role. 

6. Waqt: Race Against Time

 Priyanka Chopra’s role was offered to Rani Mukherjee at first, but she did not want to become a part of it so, she rejected the role, and makers decided to cast Priyanka who gave a smashing performance. 

7. Munnabhai MBBS

Yup! You heard that right. Munnabhai was also first offered to Rani Mukherjee, but she rejected the role, and it went to Gracy Singh. Gracy did a superb job in it, and the movie did so well at the box office that the makers decided to make its sequel, Lage Raho Munnabhai.
