A few days ago, Salman Khan made an official statement that his upcoming film, Dabangg 3 will be hitting the theatres on December 20, 2019. But the irony is that after he made this announcement Brahmastra makers announced the same release date. To avoid the clash and strong probability of box-office revenue loss, Ayan Mukerji: Director and Writer for Brahmastra chose to postpone its release and went for 2020 Summer Season for the release.
Meanwhile, Ranbir was asked to comment on these events and he replied,
“Brahmastra was going to release in December, but director Ayan Mukerji postponed it to summer 2020. The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. It’s unfortunate we could not make the December release date because of various reasons.”
He further added,
“The CG wouldn’t have been ready. It’s sad that again there will be a gap between my film, since ‘Sanju’ released last year. It’s not good for actors to have such long gaps. But it’s not in my hands. As long as the film is well made, I’m happy. We are not giving the film a deadline.”
It is not the only movie of Ranbir that is on the verge of release date clash. He is also set to avoid a release date clash with Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha, an official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ blockbuster Forrest Gump, when it comes to his second upcoming movie that will be a Luv Ranjan directorial. Both Aamir and makers of Ranbir’s untitled film, co-starring Ajay Devgn have booked a release date that falls in Christmas 2020.
Now comes the postponement of ‘Shamshera’, Ranbir’s 3rd movie which is also deemed to clash with Sooryavanshi and Inshallah. Because of this clash, there are strong suggestions that Luv Ranjan’s untitled film would have to be delayed as the audience will more probably be bored to watch 3 movies from the same performer in continuance.
