Ramayan’s Sita Urges Fans:

Dipika Chikhlia aka ‘Sita’ from Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ has urged her fans not to cross that ‘Laxman Rekha’ after the ongoing nationwide coronavirus lockdown was extended till 3rd of May.

We all know that decades-old but still relevant, Ramayan is being re-telecast on Doordarshan to keep the Indian public entertained during the ongoing nationwide coronavirus lockdown.

Dipika Chikhlia who became a household name after playing the role of Sita in the popular 80s series Ramayan posted an important message today for her fans on her social media account after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday morning.

For the unaware, in his speech, PM Modi announced the extension of the lockdown till May 3 and shared 7 tips to fight the coronavirus pandemic. In a video shared on her Instagram account, Dipika requested people to respect the lockdown as it is the only way to control the spread of the deadly outbreak. Dipika also said that she especially liked four points of PM’s speech.

The 1st point was to take care of the elders and senior citizens in the house, the 2nd was for everyone to boost their immunity by consuming nutritious foods. And last but not the least, Dipika also lauded the medical professionals, policemen, and other essential service providers who have been fearlessly going to work every day during the pandemic.

Talking more about her video, Dipika then asked the TV audience to respect them and the “Lakshman Rekha” drawn by them, by remaining indoors.

Her caption read,

“Agni pariksha ….lets not cross the laxman Rekha,”

Ramayan which is being re-telecast on Doordarshan created history by registering the highest ratings for a Hindi GEC (General Entertainment Channel) show since 2015, according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council.

Just a few days ago, Dipika had also shared a picture on her Instagram account with the whole team of the show.
