Paan Singh Tomar

The critically acclaimed film starring actor Irrfan Khan and based on the athlete-turned-dacoit of the same name, Paan Singh Tomar captures his life while he was in Chambal village of Madhya Pradesh. This movies gives the rest of the world the glimpses of one of the notorious valleys of India.

Synopsis: Paan Singh Tomar, an athlete, wins gold medals at the Indian National Games seven times in a row. He is forced to become a dacoit when his mother is murdered and the police don’t take any action.

Sui Dhaaga: Made in India

This desi love story of Mauji (played by Varun Dhawan) and Mamta (played by Anushka) is based on the life of an artisan from the small town called Chanderi.  This town is known for its rich culture and ‘Chanderi’ sarees that has been beautifully carved through the story of tailor ‘Mauji’ in this movie. The movie based on the life of Ashoka The Great, an Indian emperor of Maurya Dynasty is a visual spectacle in true sense. Most of the locations featured in the movie look unearthly and are a treat for sore eyes! Popular places of Madhya Pradesh like Pachmarhi, Rajat Prapat, Saraswati Ghat, Panchwati Ghat, Apsara Vihaar, Handi Khoh and Maheshwar are featured throughout giving the movie an ancient look.

Synopsis: After a bloodbath in which many people die, Asoka, a young prince-turned-warrior, realizes his mistakes and embraces Buddhism to spread peace around the world.



Stree Rajkummar Rao Shraddha Kapoor

This horror comedy is set in Madhya Pradesh’s Chanderi — a town that borders woodland and is home to several historically significant monuments.

Synopsis: The people of Chanderi live under a constant fear of Stree, the spirit of a woman, who attacks men at night during the festivals. Vicky, along with his friends, decides to solve the mystery.

Revolver Rani

With Kangana Ranaut in lead role, Revolver Rani was extensively shot in the Chambal Valley. Even though its shot in Chambal, the film is based in Gwalior with a political background.

Synopsis: A strong and demanding female politician falls in love with a rising Bollywood star and does everything in her power to keep him safe. But he begins to feel trapped between her and her enemies.
