In the recently shared ‘Maidaan’ teaser. Ajay Devgn and his team are rolling in mud to bring alive on the silver screen the ‘golden age’ of Indian football.
Ajay Devgn used his social media handle and shared the teaser poster of his upcoming film, ‘Maidaan’.
In this film, Ajay Devgn will be playing the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. This biopic is being directed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma and is called as the ‘story of the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962’. Maidaan is being jointly produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. An official announcement regarding Maidaan was made last year i.e. 2019 and everyone was left intrigued with its 1st look poster.
Interesting Boney Kapoor’s two kids: Arjun Kapoor and Jhanvi Kapoor both have been a Bollywood citizen for quite some time now. But despite that they are not a part of Maidaan’s cast.
Talking more about Ajay sharing the Maidaan teaser poster on his social media pages. In the shared photo, we can see young football players covered in dirt while playing the game. Ajay captioned the poster with words,

Sometime back, south actor Keerthy Suresh was all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay in Maidaan. But post her exit, filmmakers roped in Priyamani to be seen alongside Devgn.
Maidaan entered the production stage on 19th Aug, 2019. On the other hand, giving an insight about Ajay being a part of the film, Boney had some time back told Indian Express,
“An actor like Ajay is most apt for essaying this character. We hope that the film inspires millions of youngsters and soon India plays in the World Cup and becomes a potent force in World Football.”
Boney Kapoor also added,
“It’s amazing to see football, the world’s biggest game, having such a fever in India, and yet our team is not being sent to important tournaments.”
Maidaan will make its box office debut on November 27, 2020.
