Kareena Kapoor Khan also called ‘Bebo’ by people in the industry is one of the most popular Indian actresses since her debut in 2000. Her debut in movie ‘refugee’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan earned her the first Filmfare award.

Having the ‘Kapoor’ name comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages, also comes a lot of expectations and she entered Bollywood at a time when her sister Karisma Kapoor was enthralling Bollywood with her charisma and for the first few films she was labeled the sister of famous Karisma, but she has made her mark with movies like Jab We Met and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.

 1. Udta Punjab (2016)

This multi starrer had Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Diljit Dosanjh along with Kareena in the lead, she portrayed the role of a doctor in Punjab perfectly and did 100% justice to the role offered to her by the director. The movie came under heavy criticism but was a success in the box office.

2. Talaash: The answer lies within (2012)

Movies with Aamir Khan dubbed ‘The Perfectionist ‘are always special but this was one movie where she stood tall against Aamir with her own performance.  A must watch for all movie fans.

3. Bodyguard (2011)

High grossing movie paired with Salman Khan, she romanced right into the hearts of many men in India. The movie was a box office success and her performance was lauded by many people.

4. 3 Idiots (2009)

The movie inspired from Chetan Bhagat’s ‘ Five point someone’ with Aamir Khan in the lead also had a good performance by Kareena, though limited she played her part perfectly.

5. Kurbaan (2009)

This was the first movie with Saif and Kareena in the lead after their romance was confirmed in 2007. Her performance was fantastic and fans had a super hot steamy scene to cheer about as well as good songs.

6. Jab we met (2007)

If ever you come across any fan of Kareena Kapoor Khan and ask him/her what their favorite movie is, 90% will say Jab We Met. Such was the story and the character in this movie. Geet is a fun-loving, joyful, playful character who has dreams and a love affair and gets stuck with a depressed businessman Aditya Kashyap played by Shahid Kapoor and changes both of their lives. “Yeh Ishq Hai” is still ringing in my ears.

7. Omkara (2006)

Inspired by William Shakespear’s Othello, this multi starrer movie had a great star cast with Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi along with Kareena and Bipasha as the female leads. Kareena had an exceptionally difficult role of Dolly Mishra (inspired from Desdemona) which she portrayed with perfection.

8. Dev (2004)

Kareena received yet another Filmfare award for her role ‘Aaliya’ in this movie. The movie starring Amitabh Bachchan and Fardeen Khan was a political thriller but bombed at the box office.

9. Chameli (2004)

One of the best performances of her career, critically acclaimed and won the Filmfare special award for best performance. She plays a street-smart prostitute ‘Chameli’ opposite a businessman played by Rahul Bose. The role was primarily given to Amisha Patel who declined it saying it won’t match her as the role is a prostitute and then it was offered to Kareena. The film rejuvenated Kareena’s career and some say this was the best performance of her entire career.

10. Asoka (2001)

Portraying the warrior princess Kaurwaki opposite Shah Rukh Khan, she was not only a sight for sore eyes, but did a fair bit of emotional scenes as well. Although the movie fared average in the box office, her song  ‘ San Sanana’ is still a fan favorite.

Once Karisma took a sabbatical from the industry in 2003, she was all over the news with love interests with Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor and later with Saif Ali Khan whom she married in 2012 after five years of romance since 2007. Last year she gave birth to a son, Taimur Ali Khan who is ruling over social media with his cute pictures. Her performances in films like Chameli, Omkara, and Dev were critically acclaimed.
