After making its viewers wait for really long, Kalank trailer was released online yesterday. And the reason behind this delay is still unknown.

Kalank Trailer

The film that has a British Era India background, has been in the news ever since its announcement. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ ambitious period drama features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur. The movie already has blockbuster painted all over it. Check out the amazing trailer here if you haven’t already:

Kalank was a concept that was developed around 15 years ago by a well known father-son duo hailing from Bollywood. Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar. Post Kal Ho Naa Ho’s release, Karan was planning to direct it but things went south and as it was an underdevelopment project, it was put on the back burner. But Karan was keeping it close to his heart always, as it was a part of his father’s memories.

Kalank has another off-screen story to tell. It is the on-screen reunion of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dutt after a long haul of 21 years. Both were rumored exes at the top of their career. Now they are happily married with children but to two other individuals. Mahaanta was their last on-screen performance together back in 1997.

Alia Bhatt Varun Dhawan Kalank

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan will also be seen together for the 4th time, after delivering blockbusters like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, all produced under Dharma. Where these two couples would be seen together again, this movie will mark Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha’s first onscreen appearance together.

The trailer sure has raised the expectations way too high. Kalank is set to release on April 17th.
