Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who will be seen in the upcoming Bollywood love story duet set during the partition days, Kalank, recently shared her on-set experience about dancing alongside Madhuri Dixit in the movie. It won’t be wrong to say that director Abhishek Varman’s upcoming period drama, Kalank is one of the most awaited films of the year 2019, the primary reason being its stellar star cast and a gripping storyline that is set in the 1940s. Last month Kalank’s title track went public which had Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawan matching footsteps with each other.
Ghar More Pardesiya, the first song of the movie released online which had people hooked, sung by Shreya Ghoshal, shows Alia’s dance sequence. While Alia’s traditional dance has already won millions of hearts, reports were there that in the movie there is a song that will have her dancing alongside Madhuri Dixit.
In a recent interview, she opened up about the same and said,
“I dance in the film but not with Madhuri M’aam. Am I mad to dance with her?”
If you haven’t watched the song yet, watch it here:
When asked that whether both the dancers will match footsteps in the movie, she said,
“Fortunately not. To my good fortune, I don’t have to share the dance floor with Madhuri M’aam. But she’s standing and watching me while I dance. For me, that was a reason to be nervous enough…that she was watching me dance.”
“I’d keep pleading for her to sit in her vanity van. But of course, she had to be in the shots. So imagine, I had to dance in front of one of our finest dancers of all times,”
Sharing her experience in the capacity of a performer in Kalank, Alia told the portal that it was one of the most challenging films that she had done so far yet it was a fantastic experience.
A Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, Alia will portray the character of Roop, a girl who is free and only lovebound. While Madhuri, on the other hand, will be seen as the enchanting, ethereal and timeless Bahaar Begum and Varun will portray Zafar, a man who flirts both with his life and danger.
