‘Devi’: A Kajol, Shruti Haasan and Neha Dhupia starrer short movie will make you feel emotionally disturbed.
Kajol, Shruti Haasan, Mukta Barve, Neha Dhupia Bedi, Neena Kulkarni, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Yashaswini Dayama, Sandhya Mhatre and Rama Joshi starrer short film titled ‘Devi’ is out for public consumption.
The hard-hitting film stars Kajol, Neena Kulkarni, Shruti Haasan, Neha Dhupia Bedi, Mukta Barve, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Yashaswini Dayama, Sandhya Mhatre and Rama Joshi in pivotal roles. Having a look at its teaser, one can easily interpret that the short film shows glimpses of sisterhood with an emotional backdrop. But the actual movie will leave you both shocked and in tears. Devi narrates the harsh truth of rape victims and in an unexpected way.
Talking about its plot. The film starts with Kajol doing Puja with everyone sitting in a crowded room. All these women are either in a pensive mood, fighting with each other or trying to watch the old television set. Then all of a sudden the doorbell rings and everyone talks about how a new guest won’t fit in here as they are already large in numbers. After a heavy discussion they decide on who will be staying out to let the new person enter the room. All this leads to a shockingly new revelation that they all are rape victims and also dead.
Their intense conversation also has a mention of how old their rapists were and how the victims were killed. They mention the age of 42, 55 and more, whilst talking about the death they mention by getting strangled, stabbed and more. Neha, meanwhile, says she committed suicide.
