In the ‘Batla House’ teaser 2: John Abraham who plays the cop: Sanjay Kumar Yadav, has a question for the viewers: Were the accused innocent?

The second teaser of John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Batla House’ went public.

Just a few days back, the makers of Batla House unveiled the first teaser of the film. The film has John Abraham playing the role of a cop named Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who lead the encounter that took place almost a decade ago on September 19, 2008. This operation that was officially called by the name Operation Batla House took place against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists hiding in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi.

After the first intense teaser went public, John took to his Instagram page and shared the second teaser from Batla House. In the Instagrammed video, a politician is shown saying that the men who were killed in an encounter were students and it was a fake encounter. (Politics as usual). In the days that followed, protests began all over Delhi against local police. Amidst all that, all of a sudden, comes John’s voiceover, wherein he is saying that they don’t deny they were students but were they innocent?

Batla House is helmed by Nikkhil Advani and jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and John Abraham. It has Mrinal Thakur as the leading lady. The film is set to hit the silver screens on Indian Independence Day i.e. 15th August, that falls in the month that follows. After releasing Satyameva Jayate on the same eve last year, this is the second time John will visit the silver screen on a national holiday.

Mrinal Thakur is also the female lead in Hrithik’s Super 30.
