Joaquin Phoenix’s next acclaimed release ‘Joker‘ that was earlier set for a 4th October release, has got a new release date i.e. 2nd October that sets it on a clash path on Box-office with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘WAR’.
Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ is one of the most anticipated releases of the year 2019. Warner Bros. India communicated the preponing of film’s release date via its official Twitter handle.
“‘Joker’ Movie will now release in India on Wednesday, October 2nd, two days ahead of its initial scheduled release,” The mid-week release makes sense for Indian Box Office since it is a national holiday and all other releases in the week will also release on the same day.”

This may be good news for those who are Hollywood flick fans. But this is bad news for another anticipated commercial release, ‘WAR’. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer have created quite the buzz over the past few weeks. Hrithik Roshan even released a new poster of WAR and alongside made an announcement that pre-booking will begin on 27th September. That’s not all, Big B aka Amitabh Bachchan starrer Telugu action flick ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ will be the third film releasing on the same day. In other words, three big flicks on box office on the same day.
Filmmakers vying for the festive release dates are becoming a common phenomenon now. And to be precise in this competition nobody wins. There is some loss either big or small for all the parties participating in this competition.
Back on the Independence Day Eve i.e 15th August, Akshay Kumar’s: Mission Mangal and John Abraham’s: Batla House both arrived at the silver screen with a big bash and the result was latter suffering revenue loss at the box-office due to unnecessary competition that could have been avoided easily with a simple understanding.
Talking about ‘Joker’, helmed by Todd Phillips, it is a new take on the classic comic book character. Known as Batman’s arch-nemesis, the flick will bring light to a new side of the character.
