Jawaani Jaaneman is Saif Ali Khan centric movie, no doubt. Saif Ali Khan who is popular for his quirky sense of humor and playing uber-cool rich guys does not disappoint this time too. He’s a playboy who is unmarried and in his 40’s but there’s a surprise. He is Alaya F’s father.
Saif has portrayed the role of a playboy with that childlike innocence and vulnerability. While Debutante Alaya F has a magnificent screen presence and the camera for sure is made for her. She’s that cool modern-day kid. Tabu who plays Alaya’s mother in the film, despite her 15-minute screen presence has done a lifetime of justice to the character as a spiritually empowered happy.
Saif Ali Khan and Tabu are sharing the screen after a long time. But their chemistry was still lit up the screen. Farida Jalal, Chunky Pandey, and Kumud Mishra are also lending good support and are well placed with the narrative of the film.
Some moments in the film will be somewhere inside you even after you have left the theatre.
There comes a time in the film, where Jazz (Saif) tries to get along with his daughter, promising to mend his ways to keep her with him and during that interaction, he, a flying solo party man, tells Tia (Alaya),
“Mujhe kabhi pyaar nahi hua. Tu mera pehla pyaar hai. (I have never fallen in love with anyone, you are my first love).”
Jawaani Jaaneman is a must-watch for Saif Ali Khan’s performance, it is sure to give all the 90 era kids a major nostalgia, an actor who ages like fine wine and is capable of playing himself in his biopic someday.
Also, watch it for Alaya F and Tabu, there are no two other actors who could have played their roles with such ease.
Jawaani Jaaneman is the story of a man who realizes that words commitment and true love are not an undesired weight, but a crucial part of life.
