Jacqueline Fernandez Shares Himanshi Khurrana’s Dance Clip:
Sidestepping plagiarism queries on Ratan Kahar, Bollywood Actress: Jacqueline Fernandez shared a clip of Himanshi Khurrana grooving to ‘Genda Phool‘.
Jacqueline Fernandez was asked about not giving credit to the original composer of the ‘Genda Phool’ song. But instead of answering these claims, the actress shared a video of Himanshi Khurrana grooving to the song.
Jacqueline Fernandez and Badshah’s audio single ‘Genda Phool’ has been under the scanner for not giving credit to the original composer Ratan Kahar. Both Jacqueline and Badshah were asked to answer the same. Whilst Badshah did state that he would love to help the composer but couldn’t find his name on the original song, Jacqueline totally ignored the controversy and went ahead, sharing videos of other people dancing on the track, one being Himanshi Khurrana.
Talking about the dance video. In this video, ex-Bigg Boss contestant and Asim Riaz‘s girlfriend, Himanshi Khurrana wore a saree and elegantly danced on ‘Genda Phool’, acing it even better than Jacqueline herself in some places. Jacqueline, who is yet to give a response around the controversy surrounding the song, rather shared the video and called Himanshi ‘hot’ during the quarantine.
Have a look at the video below:
“Boroloker bitilo, lomba lomba chul, Emon mathay bnedhe debo lal genda phool (The rich man’s daughter has long hair, I want to tie a marigold on it),”
which happens to be the hookline of ‘Genda Phool’, was picked up from Ratan Kahar’s Bengali folk song that was composed back in the 1970s. The composer did not receive credit for the same and is financially disable to take the matter to court. Thus prompting netizens to come out as good samaritans in his support.
These were Kahar’s words which he told to a Bengali portal in an interview,
“I wrote the song Boroloker Bitilo. The music, the words, everything is mine. Now, if people are dishonest, what can I do? I am extremely poor. Many people have taken my songs, but have not given me credit. They can’t write their own songs. They used my songs as their own. I live in a hut. I write songs of the soil. I don’t have the financial strength to drag them to court.”
This won’t be the 1st instance of money twisting arms of justice.
