Irrfan Khan’s spouse Sutapa writes a heartfelt message about the year, that was the longest one in the couple’s life. Irrfan Khan who was diagnosed with the neuroendocrine tumor went to Great Britain for its treatment, came back to India last week after he had a successful fight against the disease. And what more than being a true professional, he wasted no time and very soon he joined the shooting sequences of his upcoming movie Angrezi Medium.
Meanwhile, when it comes to his better half i.e wife Sutapa Sikdar, she wrote a letter from the bottom of her heart thanking the couple’s well-wishers following Irrfan’s recovery from the neuroendocrine tumor. The note reads,
“Longest year of our life. Time was never measured with pain and hope at the same time ever. While we take our baby steps back to work, to life, I am submerged in prayers, wishes and faith from friends, relatives, strangers and a connection with the universe which gives us a small chance for this new start,”
All these words that she mentioned on her social media account, detailed the pain that their family endured in the past one year, beginning in March last year when Irrfan shared with the public his diagnosis with the cancer.
Sutapa who is both an actor and producer, met Irrfan while both were students at National School of Drama (NSD). She said that it was the prayers of well-wishers both known and unknown ones that kept her going in such hard times of her life. She said,
“It seems unbelievable… Never ever I realised the meaning of the word unpredictable so well. Never ever I could feel people’s wishes on my bones, my breath (and) my heartbeat, which helped me to stay focused and kicking. I can’t take names because there are names and there are names. I don’t even know who played angels.” Sutapa said they are grateful as the ”dance and song of life continues”. “Thank you for believing in your prayers,”
Angrezi Medium Irrfan’s next movie is the sequel to Hindi Medium that came back in 2017.
