Sridevi was by all means the real superstar of Bollywood. Awarded the Padma Shri in 2013, the actor has acted in movies for almost 50 years. Had it not been for her early demise, she was still a powerhouse of energy and talent. Iconic films that would have been different had Sridevi not refused them prove her mettle as an actor par excellence in Bollywood.
Ajooba released in the year 1991 and was an Indo-Soviet collaboration on a fantasy superhero movie. The movie’s director Shashi Kapoor had wanted to cast Sridevi opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the movie, however, Sridevi turned down the offer.
Janbaaz released in the year 1986 and was a super hit of its time. The director Feroz Khan had wanted to cast Sridevi as the main lead but due to unavoidable reasons, she turned down the film. A song was specially added to the movie with Sridevi in a guest appearance.
Lekin released in the year 1991 and was a musical mystery. The film turned down by Sridevi was finally done by Dimple Kapadia.
Beta released in 1992 and was the highest grosser of the year. The movie had been specially written for Sridevi but she turned it down owing to her numerous movies with Anil Kapoor.
Darr released in 1993 and was offered to Sridevi by Yash Chopra. But the actor refused as she had some date issues.
Baazigar released in 1993 and was a blockbuster. The movie was supposed to have Sridevi play a double role as the love interest of Shahrukh Khan. The movie was later made with Shilpa Shetty and Kajol instead.
Aaina released in 1993 and was first offered to Sridevi however she turned down the movie.
Mohra released in 1994 and was one of the highest grosser of the year. The movie was offered to Sridevi as the lady love opposite Akshay Kumar however it was finally done by Raveena Tandon.

Dil To Pagal Hai released in 1997 under the Yash Chopra banner. The role of Madhuri Dixit was first offered to Sridevi who refused the role.
Mohabbatein released in 2000 under the Yash Raj banner. The movie is rumored to have been written especially for Sridevi but she turned down the film.
Yaadein released in 2001 and had initially planned on casting Sridevi as the love interest of Jackie Shroff. The role was turned down by the actor and went to Rati Agnihotri.
Baghban released in 2003 and is an iconic Bollywood movie. The movie was first offered to Sridevi but she turned it down as she comes back movie. The movie was later done by Hema Malini.
