Recently, ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jaayegi released on the big screen. The film has been directed by Mudassar Aziz and features Jassie Gill, Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill and Diana Penty. The film is a sequel to ‘Happy Bhaag Jaayegi’ which was released in the year 2016. The film is based on a comedy runaway but Sonakshi Sinha can’t match the pace of this runaway film. The film has been created in a random manner and it would be difficult to tolerate one Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) running all the time.
In the film, Diana Penty also appears but this time only in a special appearance. Although there are two Happys, Sonakshi Sinha and Diana Penty, but still only one Happy (Sonakshi) does all the hard work of running again and again in the film. The outcome is definitely disappointing as the runaway of Happy doesn’t take the film to a very long distance. The film is not up to the expectations and fails to create its impact on the big screen.
Talking about the first part of this movie which was released in the year 2016, it was based on a girl named Happy who escapes on the day of her wedding so that she can marry her love, Guddu. Later, she lands up at a Pakistani politician’s house which caused a lot of chaos and drama. This time ‘Happy Phir Bhaag Jaayegi’ shows Happy No. 2 who lands up in Shanghai. The film involves elements of drama, comedy, romance and chaos.
In the film, we see Sonakshi Sinha caught up in extraordinary circumstances which will make you laugh but still overall the film fails to win hearts. The plot has been poorly organised and we just see some irrelevantly running Sonakshi Sinha which is also completely disappointing. In the starting of the film only, two Happys get interchanged and Sonakshi Sinha gets kidnapped by gangsters.
There were some good comedy punches in the starting only which set the theme of the film and later it takes some pace when more and more characters were introduced. Denzil Smith and Jason Tham were still good with their performances and their acting has been immensely appreciated by the Bollywood fans. Denzil plays the role of Adnan Chau and Jason plays the role of Chan who was the leader of the gangsters. They both were really good with their on-screen presence and their acting could still help you to tolerate the film.
Mudassar Aziz has tried to manage the film with some great Punjabi dialogues and it shows how much effort he has put in to make this film hilarious. The script of the film is well written but still there is a problem in applying to this great script. The direction of the film lacks at many points which degrades the plot. Some of the actors did a great job but still a complete team effort is required to make a film hit which lacks in ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jaayegi. The film just focuses on showing Happy No. 2 running away and many other aspects in the film have been ignored. Even the performance of Jimmy Shergill was quite decent but still it could have been much better.
The film has been stated as mediocre and talking about the ratings of this film, it has been rated 2/5 by Hindustan Times, 3/5 by News18, 3.5/5 by Navbharat Times, 1.5/5 by India News and 1.5/5 by Indian Express. The film can still be tolerated with some good humour in it and also with the acting of some of the stars but it could have been made in a much better way than it is right now. Sonakshi Sinha looks stunning in the film and you can definitely take a risk to watch it if you are a fan of this successful actress.
