‘Surma Surma’ is a Punjabi track that has been crooned by the Duo: Guru Randhawa and Jay Sean in a Rajasthani setup.
Guru Randhawa and Jay Sean have collaborated for an audio single titled ‘Surma Surma’ which is a Punjabi song containing some verses in English too. Both these singers could be seen crooning the song in a setup in Rajasthan in the shared music video which has been unveiled by the Indian Music Giant: T-Series. The song which begins while endorsing an advertisement ends with a twist.
Talking about the music video. In it, while going to meet his friend Jay Sean in the song, Guru Randhawa falls in love with a girl on the white sand dunes of what looks like Kutch in Rajasthan. The journey of the song ‘Surma Surma’ is how the equation between the trio changes, and eventually one equation remains the same – that of friendship.

The lyrics of ‘Surma Surma’ have been written by Guru Randhawa, in collaboration with Jay Sean, who worked on the English lyrics of the song. Composed by Guru Randhawa, the music of the song is given by Vee music. Whilst Designer Anisha Jain has worked on the costumes of the artists in the music video.
Talking about Jay Sean. He gained popularity in India back in 2003 with his song ‘Main Ta Tere Naal Nachna’. Guru Randhawa, on the other hand, rose to fame after his recreation of ‘Suit Suit’ in Irrfan Khan‘s film ‘Hindi Medium’ and his audio single ‘High Rated Gabru’.
For quite some time, there has been a surge in Indian local language singers collaborating with foreign singers to create music. This experiment has been successful mainly as the world goes global due to cheaper internet and an increasing urge in both Indians and foreigners to get the best of music irrespective of its origin-destination.
