After the Janhvi Kapoor Starrer: ‘Gunjan Saxena’ trailer released, netizens straightforwardly refused to entertain the movie over ‘Pure Nepotism’ claims. This seems to be more of a democratic response by the target audience to Karan Johar’s relentless pursuance of nepotism and favoritism when it comes to the casting process in his movie.
Karan Johar owned Dharma Production’s upcoming project ‘Gunjan Saxena’ features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. So, soon after the movie’s trailer was published online, netizens wasted no time in announcing their verdict. They announced a ban on the movie citing ‘Pure Nepotism’.

The debate on nepotism has gained more fire after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s unexpected demise. Kangana Ranaut had once again alleged that outsiders are bullied in Bollywood, by established names like Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra amongst others. A lot of netizens have extended their support to actors who are not part of the industry by birth. The support for actor Vidyut Jammwal increased exponentially after Disney+Hotstar shunned his movie ‘Khuda Haafiz’ altogether.
