Latest single track Why Couldn’t It Be Me from Farhan Akhtar’s album ‘Echoes’ got released on Friday 14th December 2018, which showcases the plight of a young guy. The song is an electric musical with lyrics that focus on love and relationship. This song is basically Farhan Akhtar’s latest venture that tells about how to tackle the mistreatment of women.
With the help of social media, Farhan Akhtar shared, “Why couldn’t it be me? My new single is out now on all platforms, worldwide! Love. Share. Comment, with the link to his new single ‘Why Couldn’t It Be Me”. This song is reportedly inspired by an article that Farhan came across on Peshawar attack, which tells a story of a young guy who pretends to be sick in order to bunk his school and stayed at home and coincidently, at the very same day the Taliban stomped into an army school and shot more than 200 children.
After the attacks, the young guy might have thoughts in his mind that – ‘that could have been me in place of my brother’. So, the song is from that guy’s perspective.
A few months back in September, he had released his first English single track Rear View Mirror and also Jaane Ye Kyun Kiya being his first Hindi single track and both of them were praised by the audience from all corners. He made his debut as a singer with Rock On!! In the year 2008, and after its success he has been doing really well as a singer also.
He gave his voice to many songs including the title track of Dil Dhadkne Do with the same name; he is a multi-talented artist. His acting and singing is amazing but his writings are just extraordinary, he had done many write-ups and also wrote amazing dialogues for many hit films, and obviously, he got them from his father Javed Akhtar. Also, a director he has given many films to our industry like Dil Chahta hai which is his debut as a director.
As an actor, he started his journey with “The Fakir of Venice” and later in many films including Rock On!!, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadkne Do, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as well. The actor won many awards for his performance, two Filmfare Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, IIFA Award for Best Actor and Screen Award for Best Actor for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and many more.
Apart from his professional career and talents, Farhan Akhtar has launched a social campaign, MARD ( Men Against Rape and Discrimination). According to him the idea behind his campaign is the incident happened in August 2012 with Pallavi Purkayastha, a lawyer by profession who was sexually assaulted and then killed by her home watchman.
Nowadays, Farhan Akhtar is busy doing various concerts in India as well as in UK and US from where is has got immense love and appreciation from his fans. The actor will be seen next in “The Sky is Pink” opposite Priyanka Chopra.
