The season of Awards is here in Bollywood. Though the awards in recent years have lost both the credibility and the audience in the country, one of these, Filmfare Awards are still considered to be the most prestigious. On the weekend, Filmfare Awards 2019 took place and the year’s biggest hits were awarded. Where Ranbir Kapoor held the Best Actor trophy high for his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in Sanju, Alia Bhatt took home the trophy for playing Sehmat in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi beating Deepika Padukone for Padmaavat, Tabu for Andhadhun, Neena Gupta for Badhaai Ho, and Rani Mukherji for Hichki among others.
But apparently, not many of Deepika’s fans are “sehmat” with Filmfare’s choice of the winner. One of the fan clubs of the actress slammed Filmfare for their prejudice against Padukone. Fan page by the name deepika.padukone.fanpage took to Instagram to vent out their frustration against the bias and pointed out that just like Ayushmann and Ranveer shared the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor, the leading ladies could have done the same if the jury wanted.
The page went on to write a huge post citing their disappointment with the Director of the movie, Sanjay Leela Bhansali as well who turned the movie around Alauddin Khilji by cropping Rani Padmavati’s scenes from the movie. Here’s what it reads:
will forever remember & will never forget what filmfare did to deepika and sanjay sir. Jitesh and the filmfare really did bad and dirty with her, its okay. rani padmavati will be always with us. these people will never understand what it was like to be around at that phase when all the people and the whole film was on the danger zone including the lead actress of the movie. They’ll never understand how deepika and the whole team has gone through that time. not only fimfare but slb has also done dirty with deepika by reducing and cutting her scenes & moving the whole film around khilji. anyways, y’all will never understand, the tears, the heartbreaking, her blood & sweat and her dedication to this role. it was the toughest & the most challenging role for her and she has given her everything & she really deserved some recognition & respect for that hardwork and at that phase & its safe to say that we are really done with slb and his titular roles for the next 5 years.
& if filmfare can give a tle between ranveer & ayushmaan for the best actor, then what was the problem with deepika? why not tie between alia and deepika ?
And I also promise to not to post any stuff, video, shoot related to filmfare & not to give any coverage to filmfare now onwards.

But the actor did not react in any disgraceful manner to her fans, neither did she clarify anything but only apologized and wrote:
“To all my Fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before… #upwards&onwards.”
Well, her comment and humility definitely left everyone impressed. Though she lost the Filmfare, she got the Best Actor (Female) award for the same at Zee Cine Awards. On the work front, after almost 2 years, she will return on the big screen with Chhapaak in January 2020. The first look of the movie was released yesterday and it is trending like how. The movie will be directed by Meghna Gulzar.
