Deepika Padukone and her team of ‘Chhapaak’ conducted a social experiment so as to check whether the acid is easily available in the market for purchase or not.
Despite Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak, not doing well at the box office, it has still managed to win the hearts of the people who saw it. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is a real-life biopic based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Chhapaak shows Malti’s struggle played by Deepika and her ultimate victory in getting the sale of acid banned and seeking justice after being attacked by a man after she said no to marrying him.
Very recently, Deepika released a video in which one can see her conducting a social experiment to determine whether the sale of acid is still on and if yes then the laid down rules are being followed for the same or not. For the purpose she and her team hired a bunch of actors to go undercover and buy acid from shops in and around the city. She was monitoring the whole activity sitting in a car to retain the secrecy of the operation and was in the process shocked to see how easily people are selling acid to anyone asking about it.
In the whole experiment, only one seller seemed to be strict on selling acid as he asked for ID proof from the person who wants to buy it.
Have a look at the video below:
Deepika shared the video of entire operation on her Instagram and wrote,
“Won’t Buy Won’t Sell – A Chhapaak Social Experiment Acid has corroded many lives, crushed many dreams, dashed many hopes and scarred many futures. #WontBuyWontSell #Chhapaak @vikrantmassey87 @meghnagulzar @atika.chohan @shankarehsaanloy #Gulzar @_kaproductions @mrigafilms @foxstarhindi”
