It’s Official: Deepika And Ranveer Announce Their Wedding Date

Bollywood sweethearts Deepika and Ranveer who’ve always given us #CoupleGoals are all set to marry on November 14th and 15th this year. Keeping their fans on toes for quite some time, the couple posted their wedding card on twitter at the same time to confirm the news.

On Sunday, both Deepika and Ranveer took to social media to announce their wedding. They made the announcement in Hindi and English through a tweet, ending months of will-they-won’t-they. The posts read

“With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th November, 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty friendship and togetherness,”

This is what the invitation read. It was definitely cuteness overloaded with their synced posts.

Padukone and Singh first shared screen space in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2013 romantic drama  Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela,  where they began dating each other. After that, both of them often visited each other on the sets of their films over the years. The actors, since then have frequently been photographed in each other’s company at various parties and film events, hence sparking relationship rumours.

The couple has been spotted together being candid in a lot of interviews giving us the ‘Oh so adorable’ moments.  In one of the episodes of Koffee with Karan, Ranveer called Deepika ‘marriage material’ Also, In another interview for India Today Television, Ranveer had said,

“While marriage is  not a priority, it is something at the back of my head.” He also said, “These are things I think about. I try to create a life and work balance. As much as I am consumed by my work at the moment, these things are on my mind. But nothing decisive as of now.”

In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Deepika had admitted that she is excited that marriage is on the cards.

“When it is time, I’ll know that it is the right time. I think as an institution, it is extremely important. That’s the way I have been brought up. It is extremely important for me to see myself like that. It is every girl’s dream. I have always followed my instinct and I know that I will feel it when I am ready and when it’s meant to happen,” she said.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been a lot of speculations about their wedding. In August, a film magazine reported that the couple has fixed their wedding date for mid-November, while a location in Italy has been selected as the venue. It was also reported that the guest list will consist of a just 30 people,  comprising of only close friends and family. The couple apparently also plans to host a huge reception in India later. The rumours of their wedding gained momentum when they were recently spotted in Italy together, presumed to be location hunting for the wedding.

The couple, who have always kept a low profile on their relationship and their wedding plans, are the two most renowned stars in Bollywood and have starred in hits including Padmaavat as well as Bajirao Mastani, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Friends from the industry of the actor couple congratulated them on social media. Among the first few were Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff, Sonam Kapoor, and Kalki Koechlin. While Karan wrote “Badhai Ho” Alia posted “Congratulations Tutu”. A lot of fans were also overjoyed to hear the news and took to Twitter and Instagram to congratulate the duo. In the same week, Deepika also featured with Alia Bhatt on an episode of Koffee With Karan‘s latest season. Ranveer Singh would grace the couch as well, but alongside Akshay Kumar.

The couple surely pulled off a Virushka by giving the news out of the blue and surprising everyone. A Bollywood wedding in November mid is already lifting up our Diwali spirits.
