As they have been doing unpopularly in the past, Tamilrockers website released the HD (High Definition) digital print of De De Pyaar De full movie. The movie that has a star cast of Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet released last Friday and the very next day i.e. on Saturday, it was available online for free to download. Interpreting a huge financial loss to both the filmmakers and state exchequer in the form of tax that they lose per individual ticket not sold.
Tamilrockers is an infamous multimedia piracy site that keeps switching domains to stay afloat on the online network and for providing latest releases on their website. It is more encouraged by its ever-increasing user base. In the past, it leaked the latest south Indian releases like Mr Local and ABCD. In the presence of stringent laws and a high court order blocking piracy hub, Tamilrockers still manages to leak films after films illegally.
When it comes to the De De Pyaar De, it is a romantic comedy wherein a 50-year-old man (Ajay Devgn) falls for a younger woman (Rakul Preet) who is around half his age. Things turn dramatic when he makes his girlfriend meet his ex-wife (Tabu) and the rest of his family and all of them turn against their love relationship.
The film got mixed reviews from the critics. They have even called Tabu the only performer in this movie who could make it stand for a few days on the box-office before being replaced by another movie. IndiaToday.in’s Charu Thakur made comments,
“De De Pyaar De is a bag full of cliches. The makers fail miserably to evolve the story beyond a one-line plot. Go watch De De Pyaar De only if you are a die-hard fan of Tabu.”
He further added,
“Touted to be a rom-com, De De Pyaar De starts on a lousy note. The first half is a potpourri of cliches stuffed with heavy dosages of flirting, a few double entendre dialogues, some harmless flirting and a dash of romance. Served cold with humour.”
An Akiv Ali directorial, the movie had a 30 percent occupancy on the premiere date.
