The success of Baahubali 2:
This year has not been that great and pleasing for the Khans of our film Industry. Initially, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan went through the box office failure with Race 3 only collection INR 166.40 crore and Thugs Of Hindustan collecting INR 151-19 crore respectively, Shah Rukh Khan is not so far from their league. His recent released Zero has also performed extremely less than we expected. The romantic drama film under the directorial of Anand L. Rai has struggled to earn INR 59.07 crore in its Three Day run.
Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are not so ahead of him, in terms of opening weekend collection. Salman Khan’s Race 3 had packed a total of INR 103 crore in its first weekend while Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindustan has not been able to earn more than INR 105 crore in its first weekend.
And it is proved that all three khans didn’t have a good year for their films as they failed to work their magic at the box office. If we put together the opening weekend collection of all three of them, then the amount is a mere INR 267.07 crore.
We have seen the magic that is much bigger and powerful than the combined magic of all three Khans and that is no other than the Baahubali 2. Yes, you heard it right, the combination of all the versions of SS Rajamouli’s crowning achievement, that smashed the screens the previous year, the film made around INR 300 crore in its opening weekend. Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer had made over INR 127 crore in its three days run only in Hindi Version.
Baahubali film series’ huge success was because of its out of the box content and vision. At least in Hindi, its win has nothing related to its star power. The disasters of Race 3, thugs of Hindustan and even Zero has witnessed that the audience now doesn’t only want stars in the film but also wants great content. At most, the star appearances will bring audiences for the morning shows on 1st Day. After that, it’s content that will be responsible for the film’s success.
Zero ha struggled to earn since its day 1, the film’s total stands out at INR 59.07 crore. It opened with INR 20.14 crore, which was not at all an impressive start for one of the most awaited films of Shah Rukh Khan. On the second day, the film’s collection rate declined to 9.5%, and all thanks to the not so necessary negative reviews.
But on Sunday the film had a strong collection of INR 20.71 core. All the Shah Rukh Khan’s fans and some critics are claiming that the reviews are more negative than the actual film. The first part of the film before the interval is said to be great with some comedy, and the second part is also not so bad. But after the interval, there is a span of about 30-40 minutes that is responsible for the failure of the film.
