List of Bollywood Movies That Should Never be Remade

Bollywood Movies That Should Never be Remade-
There are some movies that evolve over time, some that are experimental, a few that fail miserably at whatever they were projecting and some that with sheer luck just click. All these are completely weighed down single-handedly by the cult classics, the masterpieces, the Bollywood movies that should never be remade. These works of art are so perfect that a remake would never match up to the original.
Here is a list of Bollywood movies that should never be remade:
1. Mughal-e-Azam (1960)

Be it black and white or colored, Mughal-e-Azam is one of the finest Bollywood classics. The dramatic love story of Mughal Emperor Salim and a courtesan Anarkali in all its splendor was shown beautifully in the movie. There can be no other Mughal-E-Azam ever.
2. Pyaasa

The pathos of Guru Dutt was beautifully projected in the movie. Many believe that the movie was a life saga of the actor’s personal life, his trials and tribulations.
3. Guide (1965)

Based on R.K.Narayan’s novel The Guide, gathered not only literary awards but also accolades for the movie. A touching love story between a guide and a married woman, the movie can never have the same emotion and expression.
4. Padosan (1968)

Who can forget “meri pyaari Bindu”, the movie was a laugh riot from the word go. The movie revolves around two lovers who fall for each other, separate, and meet again. A cult classic comedy that can be seen any time.
5. Anand (1971)

The movie starring the novice Amitabh Bachchan and the superstar Rajesh Khanna who brought the whole country to tears. The movie is a heart wrenching story of a sprightly person suffering from a fatal disease. An emotionally charged movie with beautiful music by Gulzar and Yogesh as the icing on the cake.
6. Sholay (1975)

I can vouch for the fact that each and every one has seen Sholay once if not twice or more in the country. An iconic movie that is still a favourite with many.
7. Golmal (1979)

When you have Utpal Dutt, Amol Palekar, David and the gang, you can stay assured that the movie will be a rib-tickling comedy. Undoubtedly one of the best comedy movies, Golmal should never be remade.
8. Masoom (1983)

Directed by Shekhar Kapoor, Masoom touched a very sensitive topic at the time. Marriage and infidelity were a taboo then and are still. The beautiful songs like ‘Kaathi ka ghoda’ and ‘Tujhse naraz nahi zindagi’ by Gulzar and R.D. Burman are still a favorite.
9. Mr. India (1987)

“Mogambo khush hua”is the one dialogue that still comes to mind. An iconic movie that can never be erased from the history of Bollywood and our memory.
10. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

A sleeper hit, the movie reached a cult status as people started enjoying it more and more over time. Starring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan along with Crime Master Gogo, it would be criminal to remake the movie.
11. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

Love always wins hands down, this Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer movie is a classic. A typical Yash Raj movie with beautiful locales and songs to compliment, no one can ever recreate the magic that happened between Kajol and Shahrukh Khan in the movie.
These are some cult classic Bollywood movies that should never be remade. I’m sure that I can add a lot many more movies to the list but for now, these movies should be the originals always!!
