Bollywood Films That Showed The Bravery of IAF Pilots:
The tragic attack at Pulwama in Kashmir took lives of almost 44 brave CPRF officers that were returning back from their leaves. The attack was initiated by the terrorist troop that resides in Pakistan, Jaish-e-Mohammad(J-e-M). On 26th February 2019, India escalated the most disastrous anti-military terror attacks by a swift air strike by the Indian Air Force (IAF). During this strike about 350 terrorists and trainers got killed. The aerial strike happened on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s biggest training camp in Pakistan. Netizens hailed India’s military for their prompt action and tweeted about it as well.
Even the celebrities from our Bollywood industry blessed and wished the Indian military on social media after the IAF strike on JeM camp. Now, talking about Bollywood, many of the filmmakers have portrayed the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots in their films which have engraved patriotism in the hearts of many, especially in the hearts of youth. These films have shown us how much pride our countrymen take in joining the Indian Force to serve and protect their country. The film AgniPankh is a patriotic film from the year 2004, which is directed by Sanjiv Puri and it features Jimmy Shergill, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Rahul Dev, and Shamita Shetty in the lead roles. The film is based on the brave pilots in the Indian Air Force.
2. Hindustan Ki Kasam
The Hindustan Ki Kasam is a war film, which was released in the year 1973 and is directly based on the Operation Cactus Lily of Indo-Pak war that happened in the year of 1971. Hindustan Ki Kasam is directed by Chetan Anand and features Chetan Anand, Vijay Anand, Raaj Kumar, Priya Rajvansh, Balraj Sahni, Padma Khanna, Amjad Khan, and Amrish Puri in the major roles as the militants of our country.
3. Rang de Basanti
The film Rang de Basanti is a drama film, which has colors of patriotism in it. The film is written, produced and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, and co-written by Rensil D’Silva. This film stars an ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Siddharth Narayan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni and British actress Alice Patten in the major roles. In this film, we saw R Madhavan as Flight Lt. Ajay Rathod, who gets martyred when his jet, a MiG – 21, crashes. In spite of having a brief role, his character made a terrific impact on the whole film.
4. Veer Zaara
This love story was directed by Yash Chopra and starred Shah Rukh Khan and Priety Zinta. But this film also has some sense of patriotism. As Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of Squadron leader Veer Pratap Singh. This movie was as a romantic film, but people really like SRK in a pilot of Indian Air Force uniform.
This is yet another war based film, which is based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971. This film was released in the year of 1982 and was directed by Govind Nihalani and stars Shahid Kapoor, Rekha, Amrish Puri, Kunal Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Om Puri in the lead roles. In this film, Kunal Kapoor plays the role of an IAF pilot.
