
Bollywood Actors Who Received Padma Bhushan:
The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, preceded by the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan and followed by the Padma Shri. It was instituted on 2 January 1954. The Padma Bhushan is given for “distinguished service of a high order…without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex.” The recommendations are received from all the state and the union territory governments, as well as from Ministries of the Government of India, Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan awardees, the Institutes of Excellence, Ministers, Chief Ministers and Governors of States, Members of Parliament, and private individuals.

1. Amitabh Bachchan –

A one man industry as called by the world fraternity, Amitabh Bachchan is an actor, film producer, television host, occasional playback singer and former politician. Often dubbed as India’s “angry young man” for his on-screen roles in Bollywood. Referred to as the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Sadi ka Mahanayak (Greatest actor of the century), Star of the Millennium, or Big B, he has appeared in over 190 Indian films in a career spanning almost five decades. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contributions to the arts.
2. Aamir Khan –

Aamir Khan is a celebrated film actor, director, producer and television presenter. Through his successful career in Hindi films, Khan has established himself as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema. He was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri in 2003 and Padma Bhushan in 2010.
3. Naseeruddin Shah –

Naseeruddin Shah is an Indian film and stage actor and director, and a prominent figure in Indian parallel cinema. The government of India has honoured him with the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan awards for his contributions to Indian cinema.
4. Shashi Kapoor –

He was a renowned actor and film producer. He has featured in a number of Hindi and English films. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 2011, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2014.
5. Waheeda Rehman –

She is an actress par excellence who has appeared in mainly Hindi films, and also Telugu, Tamil and Bengali films. She is noted for her contributions to different genres of films from the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. In 2011, the Government of India honored her with the Padma Bhushan.
6. Shabana Azmi –

An actress of film, television and theatre, the daughter of poet Kaifi Azmi and stage actress Shaukat Azmi. Regarded as one of the finest actresses in India, Azmi’s performances in films in a variety of genres have generally earned her praise and awards. In 1988, the Government of India awarded her with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor of the country. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan for her contribution to cinema in 2012.
7. Dharam Singh Deol –

A renowned actor, producer, and politician. In 2012, he was awarded India’s third-highest civilian honour Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
8. Sharmila Tagore –

The actress is known for her works in Hindi cinema as well as Bengali cinema. In 2013, she was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
9. Kamal Haasan –

An actor, dancer, film director, screenwriter, producer, playback singer, lyricist and politician, Kamal has won awards including four National Film Awards, the second-most by any Indian actor, and nineteen Filmfare Awards. Kamal Haasan was awarded the Kalaimamani award in 1979, the Padma Shri in 1990, the Padma Bhushan in 2014 and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Chevalier) in 2016.
10. Anupam Kher –

He is the recipient of two National Film Awards and eight Filmfare Awards. He has appeared in over 500 films in several languages and many plays. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of cinema and arts.
