Bollywood Actors Who Are Iitians:
Not that it matters, but Bollywood stars are always looked up to when it comes to inspiring the younger generation. They serve as role models and give hope to millions of children that dreams do come true with hard work and perseverance. Before becoming big names in Bollywood many of the actors were regular people who studied hard in some of the premier institutes of the country like IIT’s and IIM’s.
Here is a list of Bollywood actors who are IITians:
1. Amol Parashar
Bollywood Actors Who Are IitiansAn alumnus of IIT Delhi, Amol Parashar completed his Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering. Amol’s love for films and acting helped him bag his debut role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer blockbuster ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.’ Other than films, Amol Parashar has done a number of ad films for brands like McDonalds, Cadbury, Mentos and Virgin Mobile. He was also the producer and actor of Nitin Das directed, Formula 69.
2. Nikhil Singh
Immediately after that he went to the US to learn professional direction at South California University.
Nikhil Singh graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in the year 2007 and completed his B.Tech in Textile Engineering. Nikhil directed ‘With Love, Delhi’ as his first movie and worked with established Bollywood personalities like Kiran Kumar, Tom Altar and Seema Biswas. Currently, Nikhil is writing script for ‘No Love Lost,’ a movie project by Pitobash Picture.
3. Ashish Lal
Holding a B. Tech degree from IIT Delhi, Ashish is the owner of a production house. He made his first film – With Love, Delhi in 2011. He was the script writer and actor of this film. He is the co-founder of RedMat Entertainment. The production house is presently working on some feature films, ad films and documentary projects.
4. Ashutosh Matela
Completed his B. Tech from IIT Delhi and holding a degree in Civil Engineering, Ashutosh Matela is the co-founder of RedMat Entertainment along with his partner and college friend Ashish Lal. Ashutosh is majorly into direction and choreography.
5. Rahul Ram
Hailing from a well-educated family, Rahul Ram is recognized as one of the top bassists in India. His love for guitar and other musical instruments made him the part of the famous musical band – Indian Ocean. Rahul did his Master of Science in Chemistry from IIT Kanpur. He has composed and sung songs for famous Hindi movies like Peepli Live, Black Friday and Gulaal.
6. Chetan Bhagat
One of the famous Indian writers, Chetan Bhagat is a Mechanical Engineer from 1991-95 batch of IIT Delhi. The author of some bestselling and internationally renowned novels like ‘One Night @ the Call Center,’ ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life,’ and ‘Five Point Someone.’ All these three books have already been made into successful Bollywood movies.
Indian Institute of Technology is a philosophy, and not merely an educational program designed to produce future engineers. Many of these IItians have given up on their engineering dreams and pursue a career in Bollywood.
