In a recent F2F, Bappi Lahiri shared that he has collaborated with Hollywood Singer cum Songwriter: Lady Gaga for two songs and also with Akon.
Lady Gaga had very currently made into the news for her Sanskrit tweet that read,
“Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu”.
These words mean in English,
“May all remain happy and free and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all.”
After Lady Gaga made this tweet, it left people thinking about the reason that prompted her to tweet these words and even the musician herself didn’t talk about the same.
But it seems that she is soon going to collaborate with an Indian artist. And he is none other than legendary musician Bappi Lahiri. Talking about all these happenings, the 66-year-old musician shared with Mumbai Mirror,
“Yes, two duets, with her singing in English and me in Hindi in my inimitable style. We are now waiting for the release to be greenlit, hopefully by the year-end. I also collaborated with Akon two months ago. That song should also be out soon.”
When he was asked for more details, Bappi Da said, “Abhi itna hi.”
The ‘Ooh La La’ singer shared more details about his iconic song ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ that has been recreated several times. He said,
“The song took a long time to record because I introduced disco beats in Indian Antara, to come up with an innovative sound. I also experimented with a new singer, Parvati Khan. But see, almost four decades later, people around the world are still playing it as a rare tribute to an Indian composer. I’m overwhelmed and feel proud to be accorded this honour.”
This won’t be the 1st time that Bappi Da has created fusion music. When he was at the peak of his career he developed a lot of tracks that were a supposed imitation of Western Music.
